Yellowmeat watermelons are abundant in the Houston, TX. area. About 35 miles west of Houston on Highway 290 is Dilorio Farms and Roadside Market. They grow the absolute best watermelons in Texas, including Black Diamonds and Yellowmeats. In fact, they supply the HEB stores in Houston. They also have an amazing variety of shelled or unshelled pecans, and the sweetest, plumpest blackberries outside of the ones I grow in my garden. There's lots of other produce too, including beautiful bell peppers, so bring a fair amount of cash, you will be tempted. And well worth the drive from Austin.
