I hear you on eating the tiny things! I am a true omnivore but I have always had a hard time with cute, fuzzies (anything that is really cute and fuzzy…veal, lamb, rabbit etc.). Anyway my husband’s family are big hunters so imagine how difficult a family meal is for us??? I do really beleive though in free range meat. I hate feeding my children the antibiotics and hormones that they get from commercially produced meat but sometimes the other is just too hard to get!

Funny, now that I think about it I’ve never tried quail, just pheasant and game hen…but if this is turns out to be good with chicken, I may go for that instead. Pure laziness, is all.

Also, I’m laughing out loud at my office imagining the dancing quails!

You’re absolutely right about humanely raised animals. I just wish it were easier to find truly free-range meat…the food companies BS so much these days (remember when an organic label meant something?).

radish- now that you mention, I’d probably get annoyed at cornish hens too! I feel like when I eat something dainty like this, I might as well be at a fancy restaurant where it comes out in nice slices.

i so get it. but hey, i have a book for you and you gotta rea it and it’s out in paperback and well, you gotta read it. ok? then there will be a quiz. anyway – the omnivore’s dilemma by michael pollan. so great.

as for quail. yes – it’s like eating a baby animal. veal is a rough one too but since it’s so much bigger… well – anyway, i agree with all you said.

now go read the OD. after all we’ve meant to each other it’s the least you could do…

Haha, yes, while I love quail, I find it’s too much effort to eat around. That’s how my bf feels about cornish game hens.. He’s all about having easier access to his food! Looks tasty though!
