An interesting insight into who Michael Ruhlman is and how he came to be one of the best chefs of this generation, and he gives an interesting approach to some basic (european-origin) foods that most Americans know, love, and don't always make well. Pies, cakes, cookies, pancakes, all easily understood and modified. Sadly, people like myself, who are on restricted diets will have to understand and modify the techniques to fit their restrictions, and that takes away some of the beautiful simplicity. It's a great book nevertheless.<a href="http://www.amazon.com/Ratio-Simple-Behind-Everyday-Cooking/dp/1416566112/rustic-bread-recipe-20" rel="nofollow"><strong>Buy Low Price Book Ratio The Simple Codes Behind The Craft Of Everyday Cooking Lowest Price, Order Now!
Congratulations on your first challenge! Of course your focaccia looks divine, but your loaf looks tasty, as well! I love poppy seeds and am always happy to see them make an appearance. I'm glad your yeast challenge went so well!

Jen Yu- clumsy baker, clumsy cook, it's all the same to me!

And even if the bread looks good, you could tell how clumsy I am if you saw all the little burns on my hands! :D
