Wow, this recipe looks great. I love licorice in general, and anise + orange is such a great combo. Too bad I missed el Dia de los Muertos by a few days, but I doubt my coworkers will mind my tardiness if I bring a loaf or two of this in tomorrow. :)

Plus, it’s one of those “I have all this in my kitchen & pantry already” kinds of recipes — the best kind!

good for you! really, I mean that, that’s awesome.

I have not yet tried making bread, of any kind. I would really love to though. I admit it scares me a little. :)

Hi Elisa- Wow, thanks for catching that! At first I was going to discard the seeds, but then I decided to use them, but forgot to take out the discarding part in the recipe. So its 2 T of the seeds, and after you drain them from the water, you add the seeds to the bread. Hope that clears things up!! :D

hello. i came across your site and was reading thru the Pan de Muerto recipe. The ingredients call for 2T of anise seeds to boil with water. Later in the recipe you ask for another 2T. In the ingredient list, you only ask for 2T total. should that be 4T instead?
